"My work celebrates the wonder and beauty of glass and light... No natural phenomenon has provided more insight into the realities of existence than electromagnetic radiation in the form of light." Some of his works are the largest, whole, unassembled pieces of sculpted crystal known. The art of Christopher Ries is deceptively simple in form but complex in expression as it engages each viewer in an ever changing intimate world of images.

The "art" of giclee is the process of transforming an original work of art to an image that can be used to create a reproduction so close to the original that you have to use a high-powered jeweler's loop to tell the difference. At Lizza Fine Art Studios, the art is in the process. Each step of the transformation -- capturing the image, processing then printing it -- is in the hands of a fellow artist - Bob Lizza, and his trained staff.
In grad school at Pratt Institute, Schimsky’s focus was printmaking. At that time, he developed an affinity for the graphic qualities inherent in black and white imagery which could be seen in his intaglio plates and lithographs. Until recently, this love for bold and graphic black elements in the picture plane prevailed in much of the mixed media works he produced though the years. It was the skeleton upon which he hung his thoughts. Within recent years, since opening a studio in the town of Montrose, Pa., many of his paintings have portrayed people and places in the Susquehanna County region.
The Winery is owned by Gary and Ellie Toczko and is the definition of a "family" winery. The Toczko’s have four children, daughter Mya, and triplets, Maggie, Haley (daughters), and Jacob (son). The family also includes Jillian, a golden retriever that likes to eat grape skins and help in the vineyard. Gary and Ellie opened the winery to have a business where they can work with and alongside their family, whether it be tending vines, crushing grapes, making wine, or minding the tasting room in Tunkhannock.
